Fluoride Compounds in Water Are Dangerous For Your Health
Do you know there are fluoride compounds in water? You may be thinking, so what? Is there danger in that? My research shows there is.
Fluoride in our drinking water is common in most municipalities’ water supplies. Some health conscious cities are taking action and stopping the practice of adding fluoride compounds in water. A few I know about are in California – Santa Barbara, El Cajon, and La Mesa. I am sure there are others – you will need to check with your city to see if yours can be added to this list.
This chemical is not necessary for our health, or needed in the water for any reason. In fact it can be harmful. For your information I’ll list a few dangers of fluoride in our drinking water:
Lower IQ in children Toxic to your neurology system Alzheimer’s and dementia like brain lesions in studies on rats Two- seven times more bone cancer in male children who consume fluoride in water than those without. Changes bone structure and leads to more hip fractures. Impairs the immune system Increases the risk of arsenic and lead exposure, because the fluoride compounds are often contaminated with these. Suppresses thyroid function Causes joint and muscle pain, and a link has been found between fluoride in drinking water and osteoarthritis With the dangers listed above and the fact that it has been proven ineffective for the reason it was added to water in the first place – to decrease cavities in children – tells me the practice should be stopped. But until the powers that regulate my city make the same conclusions, I’ve chosen to filter my water.
When purchasing a home water filter to remove fluoride, don’t buy one that just uses carbon filtration, such as the Brita pitchers. The carbon filter won’t remove fluoride compounds in water.
You need to find one that uses multiple filtration methods, that includes a sub micron and a multi block filter, along with an ion exchange and a granular carbon filter to be sure you are removing all toxins and contaminates from you water.
